1 I . . 1 STATE OR OREGON . 2 TEACHER STANDARDS AND PRACTICES COMMISSION g 3 In the Matter of the teaching ) STIPULATION, WAIVER, License of Robert Edwin Sullivan Jr. ) SURRENDER OF LICENSE 4 ) AND ORDER 5 6 Based on negotiations between the Teacher Standards and 7 Practices Commission (Commission) , Robert Edwin Sullivan Jr. 8 (Sullivan), Sullivan has agreed to surrender his Oregon teaching 9 license pursuant to OAR 584-50-G2'7. In surrendering his license, 10 Sullivan understands that he is waiving all rights to a hearing 11 under ORS 342.177 and that the Commission will accept his 12 surrender of license and impose a revocation of the license. 13 STIPULATION, WAIVER AND FINDINGS OF ‘FACT . 14 The Commission has received information indicating that ' 15 Sullivan engaged in inappropriate conduct with respect to a 16 student. Sullivan denies that he engaged in any inappropriate or 17 unethical conduct; however, in order to avoid potential 18 embarrassment to himself or others, he chooses not to contest the l9 allegations and to stipulate to the terms listed below. Sullivan 20 stipulates that there is substantial evidence in ‘the files and 21 records of the Commission for the Commission to make ‘the findings 22 set forth below. The Commission makes the following Findings of 23 Fact: 24 1. Sullivan holds a standard Oregon Teaching License with 25 endorsements in physical education and health. In February 1998, Sullivan had inappropriate contact .2 with a student of the Ontario High School. 3 In entering this stipulation, Sullivan understands that the 4 Commission will revoke his teaching license. Sullivan further 5 agrees: (1) to waive his right to a hearing; (2) to waive 6 permanently his right under ORS 342.175(3) to apply for 7 reinstatement of his Oregon Teaching License; (3) to waive 8 permanently his right to apply for an Oregon Teaching License; 9 and (4) never to apply for a license to teach in preschool 10 through grade 12 in any other state.
