THOMPSON PUBLIC REPRHVIAND AND ORDER 5 6 7 On or about January 25, 1999, the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission 8 (Commission) issued a Notice of Opportunity for Hearing to Lynette M. Thompson (Thompson) 9 in which the Commission proposed to suspend or revoke her Oregon Teaching License or to 10 impose other discipline under ORS 342.177. 11 The Commission and Thompson have now reviewed the matters alleged and have agreed 12 to the following stipulation. In entering this stipulation Thompson waives her right to a hearing. . . A 13 This agreement sets forth the facts Thompson will not contest, including the Commission Order 14 of a public reprimand. 15 STIPULATION OF FACTS 16 l‘ Thompson holds a Standard Teaching License valid until October 12, 2000. l7 2i Thompson was employed as a high school teacher by Tigard Tualatin School District and worked in that capacity from 1992 to 1999. Thompson worked in the special l8 education department, 19 3. In October 1997 a complaint was filed that alleged Thompson engaged in inappropriate conduct with a student. 20 ~ 4. On October l4, 1997, Thompson received a written reprimand for spending 21 inordinate time with a student and engaging in flirtatious behavior with the student at school. Thompson did not contest engaging in the behaviors described in the reprimand. 22 5, A police investigation was conducted to determine if any criminal laws were 23 violated. No prosecution resulted. This Stipulation is contingent upon the 3 approval and adoption of the Order by the Commission.
