BUSH ‘ 6 7 8 By letter dated April 19, 2001, the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (the 9 Commission) denied the application for reinstatement of an Oregon Teaching License submitted 10 by Marjorie J. Bush (respondent) Respondent appealed. 1 1 On June 5, 2001, the Commission referred the matter to the Central Hearings Panel to 12 conduct a contested case hearing. . 13 On July 25, 2001, Administrative Law Judge (ALJ), Catherine P. Cobum, conducted a 14 pre-hearing telephone conference. The respondent was represented by Attorney at Law 15 Elizabeth McKanna. The Commission was represented by Assistant Attorney General Gary 16 Cordy. l7 By letter dated August 15, 2001, respondent withdrew her request for hearing. The 18 withdrawal was based on the fact that Ms. Bush is currently employed full-time as an 19 instructional aid with a school district. She believes that her commitment to the District at this 20 stage is important and hopes that it will demonstrate her ongoing interest in working as an 21 educator of children in the public school system. She will resubmit a supplemented application 22 in the future with additional supporting documentation. Ms. Bush expressed appreciation for 23 . .
