.1 BEFORE THE TEACHER STANDARDS AND PRACTICES COMMISSION 2 OF THE STATE OF OREGON 3 In the Matter of the ) STIPULATION OF FACTS 4 Teaching License of ) AND 5 BRENT PAUL FODGE ) ORDER OF REPRIMAND 6 7 On March 17, 2003, the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission 8 (Commission) received a report from Maryalice Russell, Superintendent, McMinnville 9 School District indicating that the District conducted an investigation of Brent Paul 10 Fodge (Fodge) for violation of Standards of Competent and Ethical Performance of 11 Oregon Educators. 12 Mr. Fodge fully cooperated with the Commission's investigation. After review of 13 the matters alleged, Mr. Fodge and the Commission agree that their respective ' interests, together with the public interest, are best served by a stipulation to certain 15 facts and an imposition of a Public Reprimand. 16 This Order sets forth the facts upon which the parties have agreed and the 17 sanction to be imposed. Mr. Fodge stipulates that there are sufficient facts contained in 18 the Commission’s files and records to support the findings of fact and conclusions of law 19 set forth below. In entering into this stipulation, Mr. Fodge waives the right to a hearing 20 to contest the findings of fact, conclusions of law and order set forth below. 21 This stipulation is contingent upon approval and adoption of the Order by the 22 Commission. If the Commission does not adopt this Order, neither Mr. Fodge nor the 23 Commission are bound by these stipulations, and Mr. Fodge retains all rights to a 24 hearing on the allegations. Mr. 3 Fodge currently holds a Standard Teaching License issued December 11, 2000, valid 4 until December 14, 2005. 5 2. Mr. Fodge is assigned as a computer technology teacher at Duniway Middle 6 School, McMinnville School District. Mr. Fodge began his employment with the District 7 in 1997. 8 3. Mr. Fodge shared details of his divorce with students. 9 4. Mr. Fodge repeatedly transported students in his personal vehicle in violation 1O of district policy. 11 5. Mr. Fodge demonstrated an inappropriate interest in a student's personal life. 6.
