1 BEFORE THE TEACHER STANDARDS AND PRACTICES COMMISSION ' 2 STATE 0F OREGON 3 In the Matter of the Teaching License of, 4 DEFAULT ORDER OF REVOCATION 5 KELLEE' KORVER, ' 6 7 On January 29, 1999, the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (Commission) 8 issued a Notice of Opportunity for Hearing in the above captioned case. The notice was served 9 on Ms. Korver by mailing it through the U.S. Postal Service by U.S, first class mail and by U.S. 10 certified mail, return receipt requested, to Ms. Korver at 7339 SE 35"‘, Portland, OR 97202. 11 Ms. Korver provided this address in application materials she submitted to the Commission. In 12 February 1999, the Notice of Opportunity for Hearing was returned to the Commission by the 13 U.S. Postal Service and marked as “not deliverable as addressed, unable to forward.” She has a‘ 14 not informed the Commission of any change in her address. The Commission is unaware of any . 15 other address where Ms Korver may be served. Ms. Korver has not requested a hearing. 16 Based on the foregoing, the Commission finds Ms. Korver in default and such default is 17 hereby entered. Based on the records and files of the Commission, the Commission enters the 18 following finding of fact and order. 19 FlNDlNGS OF FACT _ 20 l. Ms. Korver holds a basic Oregon teaching license that is valid through 21 September 20, 1999. 22 2. During the 1996/97 school year, Ms, Korver was employed as a teacher with the 23 Battle Ground School District in Battle Ground, Washington. 24 3. In June 1997, the school district received information that Ms. Korver had 25 improper sexual contact with a student. The school district placed Ms. Korver on administrative 26 leave pending an investigation. . On about June 20, 1997, Ms. Korver resigned her position with the school district 2 and surrendered her Washington teaching license. 3 ULTIMATE FlNDlNG OF FACT 4 Kellee Lynn Korver had improper sexual contact with a student while employed as a 5 teacher with the Battle Ground School District. 6 CONCLUSION OF LAW 7 Ms. Korver’s conduct constitutes gross neglect of duty in violation of OAR 548-020- 8 0040. 9 ORDER 10 The Commission revokes the Oregon teaching license of Kellee Lynn Korver. 11 12 I3 DATED this M day of May 1999.
