The notice was sent via U.S. First Class Mail and U.S. Certified Mail Receipt Z 204 14 897 234. The certified mail receipt was signed and dated by Gene Slayter 0n August 3, 2000. 15 The Notice of Opportunity for Hearing signed by David V. Myton, Executive Director, stated: l6 17 “You, Gene Darrell Slayter, are entitled to a hean'ng on the proposed action of the 18 Commission. If you want a hearing, you must file a written request for a hearing 19 with the Commission within 21 days of the date of this notice." 20 21 Based on the foregoing, the Commission finds Mr. Slayter in default and such default is hereby 22 entered. Based 0n the records and files of the Commission, the Commission enters the following ' ‘23 findings of fact and order. ~ , 24 25 26 FINDINGS OF FACT 27 28 l. On June l, 2000, Gene Darrell Slayter was found guilty of the crime of Sexual Abuse in the 1 29 Third Degree — Count l. i 30 5 31 2. On June l, 2000, Gene Darrell Slayter was found guilty of the crime of Attempted Sexual i 32 Abuse in the Third Degree — Count 4. 33 34 . 35 CONCLUSIONS OF LAW 36 37 Gene Darrell Slayter’s license is hereby revoked on the grounds that he was convicted of the 38 crimes of Sexual Abuse III and Attempted Sexual Abuse III ~ OAR 584-020-0040(l). 39 40 41 OPINION 42 43 Mr. Slayter’s contact with students was the result of his position as a teacher.
