1 BEFORE THE TEACHER STANDARDS AND PRACTICES COMMISSION 2 OF THE STATE OF OREGON 3 In the Matter of the ) ' 4 Teaching License of ) STIPULATION OF FACTS 5 JEFFREY KIRK JOHNSON ) AND ORDER OF REPRIMAND (75 ) 8 On or about June 1, 2001, the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission 9 (Commission) received a report from Linda Borquist, Associate Superintendent, Beaverton 10 School District, alleging that Jeffrey Kirk Johnson (Johnson) offered alcohol to a minor, The 11 matter was investigated by the m2 County Sheriff's Office. Them County Tm 12 District Attorney did not file charges against Jeffery Johnson in this matter. 13 Mr. Johnson fully cooperated with the Commission's investigation. After review of the 14 matters alleged, Mr. Johnson and the Commission agree that their respective interests, together 15 with the public interest, are best served by a stipulation to certain facts and the imposition of a 16 Public Reprimand. 17 This Order sets forth the facts upon which the parties have agreed and the sanction to 18 be imposed. ln entering into this stipulation, Mr. Johnson waives the right to a hearing t0 19 contest the finding of fact, conclusion of law and order set forth below. 20 This stipulation is contingent upon approval and adoption of the Order by the 21 Commission. If the Commission does not adopt this Order, neither Mr. Johnson nor the 22 Commission are bound by these Stipulations and Mr. Johnson retains all rights to a hearing on 23 the allegations. ' 24 STIPULATION OF FACTS 25 1. Mr. Johnson holds a Transitional Teaching License valid October 10, 2000, through 26 October 10, 2003, restricted to Beaverton School District. Mr. Johnson was employed by the Beaverton School District on a one-year, part- . 2 time, temporary contract as a music instructor at the Arts & Communication High School for the 3 2000-2001 school year. Mr. Johnson has no prior teaching experience. 4 3. Mr. Johnson violated Beaverton School District policy during the 2000-2001 school 5 year by transporting female student, KM, in his personal vehicle, on multiple occasions. 6 4.
